1.) How Much Are Tickets? 

Tickets are $25 for Adults and $15 for Children aged 10-14. Children under 10 are free (however no samples provided).

 
 

2.) What Does My Ticket Provide?

Adult tickets provide twelve taco tastings and five 5oz. beer tastings OR five 3oz. wine tastings (non-alcoholic drinks available). Children tickets provide six taco tastings and three refreshments. 

 
 

3.) What Time Is The Tournament? 

The STX Taco Tournament runs from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The Awards and Festival continues beyond 8:00 PM ending at 11:00 PM. Taco Tastings are only offered during the tournament, while supplies last. There will be live music, games, rides, and more available throughout the entire festival.

 
 

4.) When Can I Get Taco Tastings?

Taco Tastings are ONLY OFFERED DURING THE TOURNAMENT from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Taco tastings end promptly at 8:00 PM following an awards ceremony and celebration until 11:00 PM. TACO TASTINGS END AT 8:00 PM. 

 
 

5.) How Many Drinks Do I Get?

Adult tickets provide five 5oz. beer tastings OR five 3oz. wine tastings (non-alcoholic drinks available). Drink tastings are interchangable, so feel free to get beer, wine, or both! Children tickets come with three refreshments. There will be a free water station in the park.

 
 

6.) How Many Taco Tastings Are Available?

There are plenty of different taco vendors to choose from! Each ticket holder is given an STX Taco Tasting Card good for up to twelve taco tastings, children’s tickets come with 6 taco tastings. Choose wisely! 

 
 

7.) How Can I Vote For The People’s Choice Award?

After you have completed the twelve taco tastings, head to the voting booth to write in your choice for STX Taco Champion and submit your STX Taco Tasting Card in the polling box. 

 
 

8.) Can I Order Food & drink Outside The Taco Tastings?

Yes! All competitors are encouraged to showcase their full menu of items. Beer, wine, and soda will also be available for purchase through the Brownsville Sports Park. A free water station will be available.

 
 

9.) I want to Compete. How can I?

Please fill out our Vendor Packet and our Contest Rules & Regulations. Read each one, initial on each page, scan and send the document back to us. You will also need a health permit. All forms can be found at the top link “Competitors.” Please make payment in person or call us at 956-517-1800 with any other questions or concerns. 

 
 

10.) I am not here to sell tacos, can I still be a vendor? 

Yes! We welcome any and all local artisan vendors that will not be selling foods of any kind. Please give us a call at 956-517-1800. 

 
 

11.) Can I Sponsor this event?

Please do! Sponsorships are available! Each Sponsorship package comes with VIP Tickets featuring unlimited drinks including beer, wine, or cocktails, private VIP Table, forty taco tastings, event merchandise, and much, much more. Being a sponsor not only helps us offset the costs to run an event like this for our community, it also exposes your brand to tens of thousands of guests while giving back to your local Parks & Recreation Department. 12.) Do I Need To Bring A Chair?

While a chair is not required, we do recommend one if you plan to stay late and listen to the live music we have prepared for you all night long!

 
 

13.) What Is The Parking Situation?

Parking will be available on site for $5 per vehicle. VIP Parking is only offered for Event Sponsors (you can find our sponsorship form here). ADA Parking will be available.

 
 

14.) Is This A Family Friendly Event?

Yes, this is an all-ages even - bring the whole family!

 
 

15.) Can I Bring My Own Drinks/Food/Hot Sauce IN MY BAG (SWAG)?

NO! The only food and drinks you can have on site will be provided by vendors. There will be free water stations for those needing to fill bottles or cups.

 
 

16.) Can I Bring My Pet?

No. Only Certified Service Dogs are available.

 
 

17.) What Other Activities Are Going On?

There will be live music, games, carnival rides, and plenty of tacos!!!

 
 

18.) What Are Your ADA Amenities/Facilities? 

The City of Brownsville does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission of, access to, treatment of, or employment in its programs, activities, or public meetings. Any individual with a disability in need of an accommodation is encouraged to contact the ADA Coordinator at 956-548-6058 (Voice or Relay TX) by Monday, April 22, 2019, no later than 5:00 PM to make proper arrangements.

 
 

19.) What about the Weather?

Rain or shine, we will be there eating tacos alongside you! Come hungry.

 
 

20.) I want to go to taco fest, but don’t want to sample anything, can I still go?

Taco Tastings are ONLY offered during the tournament hours of 4:00-8:00 PM. Anyone is available to come to the STX Taco Festival throughout the day from 4:00 - 11:00 PM for a General Admission Price of $5. Only those with valid Taco Tastings Tickets will be be offered tastings from 4:00 - 8:00 PM or while supplies last.
